Another upset of the league, underdogs Muslim FC defeated national giants Pakistan Air Force by 1-0.
Pakistan WAPDA retains 1st position, Pakistan Air Force 2nd, KRL 3rd, Lyallpur FC 4th while Muslim FC at 5th position on the table.
Muslim FC Chaman erased the stain of the worst defeat against defending champions KRL in the 13th Pakistan Premier League with a stunning 1- 0 win over Pakistan Air Force. In their fifth match, Muslim FC suffered a 0 – 8 defeat against five-time champions KRL due to injuries of key players and a double yellow card from central defender Meraj. However, their head coach Abdul Qadeer told the media that the injury of key players and the sent off of our central defender Meraj caused our worst defeat and the leftover young players could not perform under pressure. But we are hopeful and will make a come back. Abdul Qadeer confirmed his statement by winning against strong opponent Pakistan Air Force. The match was tied 0-0 by halftime, the goal scored by striker Muhammad Hanif in the 64th minute proved to be decisive.
Pakistan Air Force won 4 out of 7 matches: against Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) and Huma FC in the same score-line 2-1, against Civil Aviation 3-1 and Pakistan Army 1-0. The match against Lyallpur FC was 1-1 while they lost against Pakistan Wapda 1-2 and latest 0-1 to Muslim FC.
Muslim FC won 4 out of 6 matches. They defeated Pakistan Navy 1-0, Karachi United 3-2, Pakistan Army and Pakistan Air Force 1-0 while they lost 1-2 to SSGC and 0-8 against KRL.
Pakistan Air Force is at the second position with 13 points in 7 matches while Muslim FC is at the fifth position with 12 points in 6 matches. Lyallpur FC has also 12 points but they retain fourth position on better goal average.
Two matches will be played today (on Friday). In the first match Pakistan Navy will face KRL and in the second match Karachi United will lock horns with star studded SSGC.
